Marilyn Forde took over as the new CEO of the Risk Management Institution of Australasia last month, replacing Stephen Betros who resigned as general manager earlier this year.
RMIA national president Grant Whitehorn said Forde was selected because of her strong executive and
personal qualities and her commitment to, and strong track record in, delivering value for members.
“She will play a key role in expanding and enhancing the provision of member services to assist the RMIA board in achieving our strategic objectives,” Whitehorn said.
Forde was previously CEO of the CEO Circle, an organisation that helps CEOs of large companies gain
greater business and personal success by creating connections and organising confidential group discussions between CEOs of non-competing organisations.
Before that, she was CEO of the Finance & Treasury Association, where she repositioned the association to serve finance and treasury professionals throughout Australia, Asia and the Pacific and developed a strategic approach to sponsorship and alliances.
Prior to that, her roles included National Member Services Manager of the Financial Planning Association of Australia, Secretary of the Victorian Independent Education Staff Association and a member of the Education Faculty Board at Monash University.
Whitehorn said her 20-year executive career providing strategic, business, financial and operating leadership to associations, superannuation funds, government-owned entities and private companies would be invaluable in assisting RMIA with its future growth strategies.
Stephen Betros has recently joined SAI Global as its head of marketing for Asia Pacific.
